Study Information
Purpose of Study
Shortly after child birth or during pregnancy, some women may experience mental health problems. Through this study, we hope to better understand why this occurs. We aim to apply our findings to develop more effective methods of detection and intervention for perinatal mental health problems.

  1. 18 years or older
  2. Pregnant or up to 12 months postpartum

  1. Younger than 18 years of age

What You'll Be Asked to Do:
  1. Participants will be sent a series of questionnaires at various perinatal time points (3, 6, and 9 months of pregnancy, and 2 weeks, 1, 2, 3, 6, 9 and 12 months postpartum). All questionnaires will be electronically administered through St. Joseph’s Healthcare Hamilton secure web application, REDCap.
  2. These questionnaires will include questions about demographics, household information, medication history, psychotherapy history, relationships, anxiety, depression, general mood, obsession and/or compulsions, sleep, emotion regulation, drug use, post-traumatic stress, general health, personality, childhood trauma, and offspring behaviour.
  3. It will take a total of 15-45 minutes to complete all the questionnaires at each time point.
